WASHING/ SOAKING

Rice that has been polished has rice residue left on the surface (Nuka). The Nuka is washed off and then the rice is soaked to obtain the desired amount of moisture. This is done 10 Kg at a time in special rice washing/soaking bags. The soaking is timed and the rice is weighed to ensure the correct moisture content.
